Q1. How and when you fell in love with jewelry?

ジュエリーが好きになったきっかけは何ですか？

A1. G: We fell in love with jewelry when I saw our grandmother's emerald and diamonds beetle ring.

ガビ: 私達の祖母の持っていたエメラルドとダイヤをあしらったビートルリングを初めて見た時かしら。

Q2. What is the inspiration source of your design?

デザインのインスピレーション源は何ですか？

A2. G: It’s very personal but to know the story of how each piece is connected.
T: We get inspired by a lot, its very fun to travel together because we are always "look at this and it can be a stone or a perfect dish" we love beauty in all forms.
Our travels or going back to a same place and discovering something new.
The feeling when you are attracted to something, it can be nature, architecture, food and flavors, a scent, anything that connects with your creativity is a big source of inspiration.
We get inspired by Japan and our memories of our visits. The delicacy of the culture is beautiful to us. Mexico and its colors, the warmth of the people.

ガビ: それは人それぞれなのだけれど、いろいろなストーリーがどこでどう繋がっているかを模索し理解することだと思うわ。
テレ: 私たちはいろいろな物や経験からインスパイアされているの。例えばバカンス中に見つけた石に対しても“ちょっとこの石を見て、素敵なお皿になるんじゃないかしら？？”なんてね。
美しいフォルムを持ったものが大好きなの。
旅行にでかけたり、同じところに何度も行ったとしても毎回何か新しい発見があるのね、そして自然、建築物、食べ物や香りによって自分がはっとさせられる、またこれいい！と感じるその感覚がクリエイティブなマインドへのインスピレーションだと思う。
日本と国、そしてそこでの素敵な思い出も大きなインスピレーションの要素ね。私たちは日本がとっても大好きなの。繊細で凛とした日本の文化は本当に美しいわね。そして私たちの故郷のメキシコの多彩さや人々の温かさもね。

Q3. Do you have any preferences on who or what kind of people to wear your jewelry?

どんな人に身に着けて欲しいですか？

A3. G: Everyone that understands and loves the design and craftsmanship of it.
T: :Our customer is every person that feels inspired by our work, we create things for everyone.

ガビ: 私達のデザインや技巧を凝らしたクオリティを理解し、愛してくれる人たちみんな。
テレ: お客様というのは私達のジュエリーに少なからずインスピレーションを感じた全ての人たちのことであって、私たちはそんなみんなのためにジュエリーを生み出しているの。

Q4. What do you regard is important as a designer?

デザイナーとして大切にしていることは何ですか？

A4. G: Our designs are an extension of ourselves. I feel the most important part is that a design speaks to you first and then it will translate to others. We love what we do, if we don't love a piece we don’t pull it out.
T: Quality and beauty living within the same space.

ガビ: 私たちのデザインは私達自身の延長線上にあるようなものなの。まずデザインのアイデアがふっと湧いてきて、それを試行錯誤しながら形にしていく、この過程はとても大事だし、楽しいの。自分達が納得がいかず、愛せないようなアイテムは作らないわ。
テレ: 質の良さと美しさが共存していること。

Q5. Please tell us how to wear and layer your jewelry.

お勧めの着け方を教えてください。

A5. G: By wearing it. (layering is in the low)
T: It's all about fluidity and feeling beautiful and comfortable. Theres no right or wrong, try it and play with it until you find your favorite way to wear it. I like to wear high and low, diamonds and snickers. Or a dress pant with a pony tail and simple earrings but big rings.

ガビ: とにかくに色々試してみること！
テレ: つけた時に無理なくしっくりきて、私って素敵！と感じさせてくれること、そしてつけ心地も大事ね。付け方は人それぞれだからこうしなきゃいけない、ということはないの。例えばスニーカーにダイヤモンドを合わせてみたり、フォーマルなパンツにポニーテイル、そこにイヤリングはシンプルなものだけれどあえてリングは大ぶりなものを合わせるとかね。

Q6. Please tell us how you spend your off time.

プライベートな時間の過ごし方を教えてください。

A6. G: We both love spending time in our houses, in the summer I love swimming and drinking wine by the pool at night. I love having Tere or friends for martini. Spending time with my siblings I enjoy so much.
T: Going outside to a garden and breath. Playing with Antonina my Italian greyhound dog. Baking, cooking and mixing cocktails, food and creating different flavor combinations is one of my favorite things to do!

ガビ: 私達は自分たちの家でゆっくり過ごすのが大好きで、夏だったらプールで泳いで夜になったらワインで一息。それとテレや友人を招いてマルティー二を飲んだりね。家族と過ごす時間はとっても楽しいものね。
テレ: 庭に出てゆっくり深呼吸したり、私の愛犬のアントニアと遊んだり。あとは料理やベイキング、カクテル作りでいろいろなレシピや組み合わせを試してみるのが大好き。

Q7. Do you have any particular rules on make ups and outfits to coordinate with your jewelry?

ジュエリーを着けるとき、メイクや服のこだわりはありますか？

A7. G: I wear almost everyday a vintage white t shirt, I love white tees and they go perfectly well with all the jewelry. I love to wear skirts too.

ガビ: 私は毎日のようにビンテージの白Tを着ているわ、白Tってどんなジュエリーにも合わせられるのよ。あとスカートをよく履くわ。

Q8. How do you store jewelry?

ジュエリーはどのように収納していますか？

A8. G: I store my jewelry in a vintage LV jewelry box I bought in Japan! I bring it with me everywhere.
T: I have all my jewelry in two places. My cuffs and rings i have them in our Shell jewelry box. And my earrings, ear cuffs and chains are treasured inside a beautiful jewelry box that Gaby gave me as a gift.

ガビ: 私は日本で見つけたお気に入りのヴィンテージのルイヴィトンのジュエリーボックスに。
テレ: 私は２箇所に分けているの。カフとリングは私たちのShell jewelry boxに入れて、イヤリングやイヤカフ、チェーンはGabyがプレゼントしてくれた美しいジュエリーボックスに入れているわ。

Q9. Please tell me the layered technique of the jewelry.

レイヤードテクニックを教えてください。

A9. G: We like volumes and lengths so when i stack my rings it's about mixing volumes and textures on necklaces I like lengths and whatever new piece we just came out with.

ガビ: 量感と長さのバランスが大事なの。だからリングと重ねつけするときはテクスチャーやボリュームのミックスと上手にね。ネックレスは重ねるものの長さのバランスが大事。

Q10. What is your favorite stone?

好きな石は何ですか？

A10. White Diamonds and Opals. You discover so many different colors each time you stare into the stone. We don't work with opals but I love the warmth of that stone.

ホワイトダイアモンドとオパールかな。いくつも色をおりなしていて美しいわ。オパールは私たちのコレクションには使われていないけれど、オパールのふんわりとした温かさが大好きなの。
