記念すべきファーストモデルは、当時すでに廃盤となっていた
名作「ソルウェイジッパー」を、
通常展開のない（バーク／ブラウン）で復刻させた
スペシャルな一着でした。
それから20年以上の時を経て、
今作ではマウンテンバイク（自転車）
乗車時のスタイルに着想を得て作られた名品
「トランスポーター」をベースに採用。

Twenty Years, One Continuing Story
The relationship between ÉDIFICE and Barbour began around 2004, when a special project was created to celebrate ÉDIFICE’s 10th anniversary.
At its heart was the Solway Zipper, a Barbour classic that had already left production. Its return in a limited Bark / Brown colorway marked the beginning of a collaboration built around respect for what came before.
Twenty years on, we look back at that beginning—not to recreate it, but to carry its spirit forward.
The next chapter starts with the Transporter.
From the Field to the City
Originally designed for mountain biking, the “Transporter” was made with movement and function in mind.
For ÉDIFICE, we wanted to take those qualities somewhere new.
The leather collar adds a refined touch against the structured body. Exposed metal zippers reveal a more rugged side, while leather piping brings both strength and definition to the construction.
Nothing is changed simply for the sake of change.
Instead, the original character is carefully reshaped into a more sophisticated “driver’s jacket” —one that feels equally at home behind the wheel or in the city.
Black — A New Perspective
Then there is Black.
Clean, restrained, and quietly modern, it brings a different attitude to the familiar character of Barbour.
Where Brown speaks to the memory of the original collaboration, Black looks forward.
The exposed metal hardware becomes more pronounced.
The leather details feel sharper. And the silhouette takes on a subtle sense of mode without losing the practicality at its core.

Around 2004, to mark the 10th anniversary of ÉDIFICE, a special collaboration with Barbour was born.

Brown was chosen with a memory in mind.
Inspired by the Bark / Brown color of the first Solway Zipper from our original collaboration, it carries a quiet connection to the history shared between Barbour and ÉDIFICE.
There is something familiar about its warmth—something that feels naturally at home within Barbour’s heritage.
Yet in this new silhouette, the color takes on a different character.
Less nostalgic, more refined.
